JUNIPER
BERRIES

The base botanical of each and every gin, juniper berries have also long been used as a spice in cooking. Juniper is such a vital aspect of gin that it is not only the primary botanical used, but by law it needs to be the predominant flavour.

The aroma and taste of juniper is essential to the finished taste. The name Gin itself is derived from both Dutch jenever and the French genièvre. A quality gin requires a careful and precise balance.

CORIANDER
SEEDS

Coriander seeds, the dry fruit of the coriander plant, have a zesty lemon citrus flavour when crushed.

Roasting or heating the seeds on a dry metal plate heightens the flavour, aroma, and pungency.

Essential for the undertones and hints of aroma the coriander seeds help create the unique flavour of a top London Dry Gin.

ORANGE
PEEL

Horse Guards owes its distinctive citrus flavour to fresh and warming orange peel.

Combined and blended by our master blenders with coriander seeds the flavour creates a subtle and distinctive finish.

To be an award wining ‘London Gin’ these combinations are essential.

ANGELICA
ROOT

Angelica is the secret botanical ingredient of gin making. When distilled, it has an intriguing earthy flavour.

There are around 30 varieties of angelica species. The dried cut root of Angelica conjoins the flavours and imparts a dry and earthy muskiness to the best dry gins.

GRAPEFRUIT
PEEL

Originally from Barbados a hybrid created by the cross of a sweet orange and pomelo, the zing of grapefruit peel adds a little taste of the exotic to our unique recipe.

It is possibly the least expected of all London Dry Gin ingredients and one of the most carefully selected to obtain a balanced result.

CARDAMOM
SEEDS

The main ingredients of gins distinctive flavour include the cardamom seed.

Native to south India and Sri Lanka, cardamom seeds provide an aromatic spice with a warming and comforting taste.

This last ingredient helps us create what we consider to be the best London dry gin.
